Desiree Staples is a recent Graduate of Northwestern University in Theater and Musical Theater Certificate (2014) and Waa-Mu Co-Chair of Double Feature at Hollywood and Vine (2014). Recent Theatrical credits include URINETOWN – Boho Theater (Jeff Nominee for Best Musical 2017), DREAM TICKET – NY Fringe (World Premiere) ON THE TOWN – Marriott Lincolnshire Theater, MILL GIRLS – Etopia Reading/Music Theater Company, NEVER THE BRIDESMAID- The Oil Lamp Theater, EMPIRE BURLESQUE – The Broad Stage Theater.
Desiree was recently seen in a principle role as ‘Sarah’, in Clickhole’s ‘500 lb Man’, which has over 10 Million views online. She’s also been seen in the ICF 48 Hour Film Festival as a leading actress, as well as supporting roles in the Independent Films GINGER, DRINKING GAMES, and MIA’S NIGHT OUT. (Co-Producer/Co-Concept). Next up she will be performing in the LA Fringe in a New Musical this June 2017: “A ZOMBIE, A DRAGON, AND A VAMPIRE WHO SPARKLES” as the role of Kim.
An actress, writer, and producer, this summer she is honored to be working with David H. Bell, Ryan Bernstein, Chris Anselmo, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on writing “ATLANTIC” – a New Musical in collaboration with Noisemaker Productions & Northwestern University premiering at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August 2017 in Scotland.
Desiree has trained with John Rosenfeld and Dough Warhit for Acting, currently taking class at Groundlings for Improv, and has previously trained at Vagabond School of The Arts, Acting Studio Chicago, and IO Chicago.
Desiree is also a proud member of Deadline Junkies, a screenwriting collective in LA as an actress and Group Repertory Theater.
